Become an airport owner and earn on every flight

Every city's airport can now be owned by a player, and as the owner you earn a share of the ticket price on every flight departing from your city. Ownership is won at auction, just as before, and once the airport is yours it pays out for as long as people keep flying.

The share is taken from the ticket price travellers already pay, so it costs them nothing extra. The airport has three levels: you start at 10 % of the ticket price and can upgrade to 15 % (requires Captain) and 20 % (requires Godfather). Revenue builds up at the airport and is withdrawn on the new owner page, where you also track flight and revenue statistics. As the owner, you fly at a 50 % discount from your own city. The discount is shown directly in the route picker, and you earn no share of your own tickets.

You can hire up to three customs officers. Each officer adds a 25 % chance that drugs are seized from travellers caught on the way into your city, for up to 75 % with a full team. You can sell the seized goods on at market value, and the traveller who got caught is told in the prison message that your customs officers took the haul. Officers wear down over time and eventually retire, so you will need replacements to keep the seizure rate up.

The owner page also includes a travel log that updates live and shows who has flown out of your city. But travellers are not defenceless: anyone using counter-surveillance agents only shows up in the log after a few minutes, and the new Fake Passport crate swaps your name for another player's in the log for 15 minutes. While the passport is active it appears as its own badge in the menu. Fake Passport can drop from ordinary crates, or be bought directly for 25 points in the new Direct crate purchase section on the crates page.

The travel page has been refreshed at the same time, with a dedicated Private plane tab, an overview of who owns the airport in each city, and a "Manage your airport" button for owners. Secure an airport at the next auction and turn every departure into income.
