The new Fight club: live fights, leagues and weekly prizes

Fight club has been rebuilt from the ground up. Where the fighter's level used to decide every fight, you now build your own fighter, watch the fights live and compete for weekly prizes across three leagues.

Your fighter now has a build of five attributes: Strength, Defense, Stamina, Agility and Technique. With a maximum of 20 points nobody can be the best at everything, so you have to choose what your fighter is good at. You also pick one of six specialties, each with its own special attack and an edge over one of the others, like rock, paper, scissors. The fight plays out live with health, stamina, a fight log and sound. A stronger build wins more often, but form on the day and critical hits mean no fight is decided in advance.

Points are unlocked with XP from training and fights. A new fighter starts with 5 points and reaches the full build at level 16, which takes a typical active player about three weeks. You can train 18 times a day, and the first 6 sessions are rested and give double XP. A new day starts at midnight, and you lose nothing by taking a break. Your level also shows as a belt, from white to black and on to Grandmaster. Beyond the full build, new levels only earn new belts and never more fighting strength, so a new player can always catch up with a veteran. The club's sparring partners adapt to your level, so you get an even fight however far you have come, and fighters with few points are protected from challengers who are far stronger.

Everyone starts at 500 rating and climbs from Amateur to Pro (from 580) and Master (from 700). Every Friday at 20:00 the top three in each league receive a weekly prize straight into their bank. First place pays €6 million in Amateur, €15 million in Pro and €30 million in Master, and each league winner also gets a Fight club crate. To qualify you need at least 5 fights in the last 7 days, and at most 2 fights against the same opponent count. If you lose a fight you were challenged to, you can press "Take revenge" and lay yourself out again with the same stake, reserved for that opponent for 24 hours.

Because strength now comes from the build, every fighter starts over at 500 rating with 0 wins and 0 losses. If you already had a fighter, you keep its nickname, and your old level and wins are shown as a veteran line on the fighter card. Veterans get a small head start: a fighter that was level 100 or higher starts at level 5, and one that was level 25 or higher starts at level 3. Any stake you had laid out when the new version arrived has been refunded. The first time you open Fight club, you pick a specialty and place your points.

You will find Fight club in the menu, and all the rules are in the FAQ.
